I am immensely proud to be headteacher of Leigh St. John's C.E. Primary School. Here, we have a simple mission to help all children and young people to be 'decent human beings'.

St. John's is an Aided, Church of England School for boys and girls aged four to eleven. 

At Leigh St. John's C.E. Primary School, relationships built on respect are the bedrock of everything we do. We believe that our school is a very special place where staff are ambitious for every pupil.  We aim high, providing children with a range of inspiring experiences that open their hearts and minds to what is available to them in the world.  All our caring teachers and staff ensure that children have the support, love and guidance they need to succeed and to deal with any personal or social challenges they face along the way. 

In January 2025, Ofsted, in their inspection of our 'outstanding' school, judged that we had taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection.  This is a remarkable achievement and one that we are extremely proud of.

With our wonderful school building, which has undergone much remodelling in recent years, extensive grounds, innovative in-class technologies and exciting learning resources, our learners benefit from a well-resourced and supportive learning environment.  We would encourage you to come and visit us and experience for yourselves the stimulating and nurturing atmosphere that makes St. John's a truly magical and very exciting place to learn.

God's love is key to our happy school, and our core 'Christian Values' of Love, Honesty, Believe, Friendship, Togetherness, Forgiveness, Kindness and Trust are at the centre of our successes. Our children, of course, are our greatest asset, and they are the heartbeat of this happy school.

We prioritise what children need on a deep and professional level. Our irresistibly, ambitious curriculum, coupled with expert teaching and effective curriculum adaptations where required, allow us to meet the needs of all pupils incredibly well.
