St. John's is an Aided, Church of England School for boys and girls aged four to eleven. 

At Leigh St. John's C.E. Primary School, we pride ourselves on providing our children with a welcoming and stimulating environment in which they can learn, grow and become the very best young person they can possibly be.

We aim high, providing children with a range of inspiring experiences that open their hearts and minds to what is available in the world.  All our teachers and staff ensure that children have the support, love and care they need to succeed and to deal with any personal or social challenges the face along the way. 

In June 2019, Ofsted judged our school as 'outstanding' which is a fabulous achievement.​

We believe that our school is a very special place, and the excellent relationships we develop with our children and their families are the bedrock of our school. We work in partnership with parents/carers, governors and the local community to provide excellence for children and to enable them to aspire to greatness.

With our wonderful school building that has undergone much remodelling in recent years, extensive grounds, innovative in-class technologies and exciting learning resources, our learners benefit from a well-resourced and supportive learning environment.  We would encourage you to come and visit us and experience for yourselves the stimulating and nurturing atmosphere that makes St. John's a truly magical and very exciting place to learn.

Our children are, of course, our greatest asset, and they are at the heart of everything we do. We teach and learn in a fully inclusive atmosphere where every child gets the education that is best for them.  Our challenging, creative and exciting curriculum, coupled with the highest quality teaching, allows us to meet the diverse and changing needs of all of our children and families.  Our purposeful, positive ethos and consistent high standards of achievement continue to make us a very popular school.
