I am very proud to be leading Leigh St. John's C.E. Primary School. Here, our first priority will always be our children's safety, happiness and whole development, both personal and academic.
Mrs E. Lightfoot (Headteacher)

St. John's is an Aided, Church of England School for boys and girls aged four to eleven.  Presently we teach Reception through to Year 5 pupils, with our school 'growing' a junior (KS2) class annually until we eventually have classes through to Y6 in 2019-20.

At Leigh St. John's C.E. Primary School, we pride ourselves on providing our children with a friendly and stimulating environment in which they can learn, develop and become the very best young person they can possibly be.

This means we aim high, we monitor and keep each child's learning on track, provide them with a range of inspiring experiences, and ensure they have the support, love and care they need to deal with any personal or social challenges.

In March 2009, Ofsted judged our school as 'outstanding' in all areas of its work.

We believe that our school is special and the relationships we develop with our children and their families ensure the happiness of each member of our school family.  We work in partnership with parents/carers, governors and the local community, to provide a culture of excellence, where everyone is encouraged to 'reach for the stars'.

With our wonderful building that has undergone much remodeling in recent years, extensive grounds, innovative-in-class technologies and exciting learning resources, our learners benefit from top class conditions. We would encourage you to come and visit us and experience for yourselves the stimulating and nurturing atmosphere that makes St. John's a truly magical and very exciting place to learn.

God's love is key to our distinctive, happy school and our core 'Christian Values' of Love, Honesty, Believe, Friendship, Togetherness, Forgiveness, Kindness and Trust are at the centre of our successes. Our children are of course our greatest asset and they are at the heart of everything we do. We teach and learn in a fully inclusive atmosphere where every child gets the education that is best for them.  Our challenging, creative and exciting curriculum, coupled with the highest quality teaching, allows us to meet the diverse and changing needs of all of our children and families.  Our purposeful, positive ethos and consistent high standards of achievement continue to make us a very popular school.
