Jodrell Bank
Year 5 visited Jodrell Bank as part of Space Week and their ‘Our Planet and Beyond’ topic. They visited the largest radio telescope in Britain: The Lovell Telescope. Whilst visiting the centre, the children were shown how rockets entered the Earth’s atmosphere. They were taken on a journey, using a simulation, from the Earth, past the stars and out of our galaxy. They learnt about the planets within our solar system and even learnt about the work which astronauts and NASA are currently working on to learn more about our solar system.
