Well done to Miss Cunniffe's class for earning the most certificates on Mathletics this week! What a fantastic achievement to have EVERY child in the class earn a certificate! Here are some photographs of them enjoying their chocolate picnic. They were extremely messy by the end of the session!
Today, children and staff have come to school wearing something red. They were asked to give a donation towards the charity and I think you will agree that they did a fabulous job of supporting them in their red items! The children have received a sticker in thanks for their fundraising efforts. Hand on Heart were the providers of our school defibrillator, helping us to ensure the wellbeing of children and staff alike in a medical emergency. Many of our staff have been first aid trained in Paediatric first aid and Defibrillator training in partnership with Hand on Heart. We believe in this very worthy cause and are pleased to have been able to raise money for them. ✋🏼❤️
Over the last couple of weeks each class in school has been given the opportunity to visit Chester zoo. The children have experienced weather from glorious sunshine, to snow! Despite the cold conditions all of the children have had a wonderful, fun filled experience seeing lots of animals from giraffes and tapir, crocodiles and Komodo dragons, monkeys and penguins to name but a few. You can see from the smiles on their faces what fun they have enjoyed! What a magical experience for our children! Their behaviour around the zoo and near the animals was exemplary! Well done St John's! 🐆🐊🐟🐅🐘🌟🌟
Our Year 3/4 children had a great educational visit from the pupils and staff at Bedford High School. The children were treated to the delights of learning about our digestive system and even had a go at creating their own! As you can see they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was lovely to see many of our past pupils as well! Special thanks are given to the staff and pupils at Bedford High School. Well done year 3/4!
This term, we have started to hold a competition in school to see which class can earn the most certificates on Mathletics each week. Our week 1 winners are Miss Robinson's class! They thoroughly enjoyed their chocolate picnic as a reward! Well done boys and girls!
Today our reception children went off on a bear hunt! They searched through the tall grass, over hills, down the winding pathway and through the woods searching for clues using their homemade maps and binoculars! What a great job they did! All of the children did us proud with their super sensible behaviour both in the woods and on the journey there, especially when crossing the busy roads!
