Leigh St John’s C.E Primary School are delighted to have received the GOLD standard mark for the fourth year running! Next year we are hoping to achieve PLATINUM! A huge well done to the P.E team for their tremendous efforts in achieving this award! 🥇👏🏼👏🏼
The children were absolutely amazing today during our Curious Critters visit!
They listened carefully, asked super questions and they could remember lots of interesting facts about the creatures from our work completed in class prior to the session.
Today we saw an owl, a snake, a cockroach, a giant African millipede, a tarantula, a leopard gecko, a crested gecko, a scorpion and a skinny pig.
We were so impressed at how brave the children were! Most of the children held a creature today, despite not being initially keen! 😬 All of the children bravely touched the creatures. Well done Reception and Year 1! We are so proud of you!
The children enjoyed a fantastic day at Cuerden Valley Country Park where they were able to analyse micro river specimens, search for special river debris and learn about the formation of different rivers. They learned about the sources of rivers and the three main processes of river formation, Erosion, transportation and deposition. The children used mathematical tools to measure and calculate river depth, width and current. Overall, they had lots of fun and enjoyed their day out of the classroom. 😊
