• ASTA Sports Association Dodgeball Competition

  On Monday, our Year 5 & 6 children had the great opportunity to attend the ATSA Sports Association dodgeball competition that was held at Fred Longworth High School. They competed against other schools from the local communities of Atherton and Tyldesley whom are a part of the ATSA Association. Through ten rounds the children competed and won 7 matches overall. Our children showed exceptional effort and determination throughout and our school is very proud of the achievements of the team. Well done St Johns! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  

• The Pop Project

  🎵 This morning we had a super special visit from The Pop Project 🎵

  Our children were treated to the delights of music and history as we looked through the decades with a particular focus on famous musicians from the North West. We learned about artists such as George Formby, Davy Jones (from the Monkeys), The Beatles, Take That and many more!

  The children learned about the local artist L.S Lowry, famous TV shows such as Coronation Street and also our world famous football clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton. We took a step back in time to the 1960’s with a particular focus on The Beatles. We sang and danced to different songs from The Beatles and other local artists. 

  We all had an AMAZING morning and cannot wait for ‘The Pop Project’ to return to school again. 🎸✨

  

• Disney Football with Wigan Athletic

  What a wonderful afternoon we all had at Disney Football. Our children were given the opportunity to attend an event run by Wigan Athletic club, learning football skills through different Disney stories. 📖 

  All of the children looked absolutely fabulous in their fancy dress outfits. 🥰
  We were super impressed with all of the girls and how wonderfully they behaved. They definitely made St John’s proud!🌟
