Keep up to date with all that's happening!
Today, the children took a trip to the North Pole to visit Santa's elves! With 20 Elf Jingles to spend at stalls such as reindeer food, chocolate tombola, face painting, hair braiding and funky gel, pop the cup, pin the nose on Rudolph, gift shop and many, many more! Much fun was had by all, especially when Santa's elves handed out extra Elf Jingles to the children for a little more Christmas fun! Special thanks go out to our parent Elves and to all the staff Elves who dedicated their own time to give our children a magical experience!
We would like to wish a very MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!
Today, our Reception, Y1 and Y2 boys and girls had a very special visitor! Father Christmas flew to Leigh in his sleigh and landed on the roof. They heard footsteps and the jingle of bells from above. As they gathered to have some scrumptious fruit, toast, pancakes and croissants, Santa arrived with a gift for each of them!
He later visited every class to share his knowledge of special events that had been happening to some of our children. He knew that some of our children were going to have a new brother, or sister very soon, that some had been doing some fantastic learning and others had won awards for completing activities outside of school.
The children were ecstatic this morning when our wonderful visitor arrived! The magic of Christmas was definitely flooding through St John's!
All of our boys and girls made their own Christingle to take to the Church Service. Father Kevin welcomed our whole St John's family to learn about the importance of Christmas. The children remembered the importance of Christmas and how Jesus was born on Christmas Day.The children were eager to share their understanding of the Christingle and what each part represents.
When making their Christingles, they discussed it's meaning:
*The orange represents the world.
*The red ribbon represents Jesus' blood and his love.
*The four cocktail sticks filled with sweets represent the four seasons and the gifts that Jesus shared with us.
*The candle reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world and he brings brightness and joy to everyone.
It was lovely to see so many grown ups at church, joining in with the Christmas Carols!
